If you had to compare Wynnum to one of your friends, you know which one she’d be. The one who’s nice and dependable. She’s the type to retire early for the night – has her dinner at 6, feeds the cat, throws on daggy pyjamas and falls asleep in front of the tv while James May is blathering on about remote controlled shopping trolleys.
But you’ve never seen Wynnum UpLate when she really lets her hair down. On Thursday night December 1st, she’s going to prove she knows how to enjoy herself. She’s dressed up with a bit of cash in her pocket and a little spring in her step. She’s leaving the Lean Cuisine frozen, she’s exiting the house.
Why turn in early? There’s music and entertainment on every corner and lights hanging in the streets. The businesses have stayed open – the little shops are spilling out onto the street and it feels like a festival in full swing.
‘Tis the festive season but with a difference – we are giving something back.
Donate non-perishable food items for our two-legged and four legged friends who are in real need at this time of year. There will be a special Giving Tree on Bay Terrace where you can donate to people in need via Foodbank and our local petshop will be collecting for the RSPCA. Let’s gather a mountain of supplies and put smiles on lots of faces!
Some of the activities we have planned include:
Santa Photos – Live Music – Kids Crafternoon – Suitcase Rummage – Christmas Movie Belly Dancing – Craft Demonstrations – Market Stalls – Delicious Food
Please head to our Street Entertainment and Events List page for more detail and times.
You’d be crazy to have an early one when Wynnum is Up Late, the place has come alive and there’s so much to see.
It’s high time Wynnum kicked up her heels, don’t you think?
